Summary
The Sponsorship Community Specialist works closely with the USP Sponsorship Team to build the capacity of Sponsorship Community Liaisons, ensuring effective coordination, implementation and monitoring of Sponsorship field operations. Under the supervision of the Senior Specialist, Sponsorship Communities, the Sponsorship Community Specialist oversees sponsorship operations performance for impact areas and phase-over states in the U.S. The Specialist's responsibilities include training the Sponsorship Community Liaisons and providing ongoing technical assistance; guaranteeing sponsored communities have knowledge of and can communicate the benefits of sponsorship to children, families and members of the community; and coordinating field sponsorship operational activities. He or she ensures that all aspects of Sponsorship operations are implemented with fidelity and in line with all internal and external standards, policies and procedures; thereby maintaining accountability to child beneficiaries, families, sponsors and Global Sponsorship Operations.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Impact
Training and Technical Assistance (40%)
Develop and implement training modules to improve sponsorship operations performance in sponsored sites and communities.
Provide technical assistance to multiple Sponsorship Community Liaisons with the collection and management of child/family information during enrollment, update and eligibility campaigns.
Monitor liaison dashboard performance in all areas of sponsorship operations and develop approaches for support and technical assistance when needed.
Build professional capacity of Sponsorship Liaisons by coaching for development and leading monthly Sponsorship Liaison Community of Practice Calls.
Engage and motivate Liaisons to meet enrollment and update goals and to be accountable for meeting deadlines, achieving objectives and working within compliance of all applicable policies and procedures.
Maintain Sponsorship Portal to communicate deadlines and provide support materials
Operations Management (35%)
Identify Sponsorship operational needs of partners and assist in arranging support, which may include assuring the availability of appropriate computer and information technology systems, software, photography equipment, community campaign kits and replenishing correspondence supplies.
Provide weekly reports to Sponsorship Community Liaisons on materials needed to ensure child eligibility and child correspondence.
Communicate all incomplete or missing materials to Sponsorship Community Liaisons, receive and track submissions and forward as needed to Sponsorship Operations.
Compile and complete monthly Sponsorship Operations dashboards and prepare monthly State-at-a-Glance Reports.
Field Support and Logistics (15%)
Support the development and dissemination of materials to partners, sponsors and families of beneficiaries.
Serve as main point of contact, coordinating and providing logistics for sponsor visits, VIP visits and yearly Sponsorship Self-assessments and/or other related visits.
Conduct site-visits periodically to provide in-person support and training and to identify best practices along with opportunities for improvement.
Other related projects (10%)
Apply Continuous Improvement methods to identify gaps, modify processes and guarantee that all procedural manuals are up to date by function and by task.
Provide research and data analysis support for programmatic and strategic projects and annual reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Background and Experience, Skills and Behaviors
High School Diploma with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience required. A Bachelor Degree in Business, Social Sciences, or other applicable field of study preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience providing administrative support internal and/or external customers or clients and a minimum of 3 years of experience working with complex databases.
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, with mastery of Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
Experience developing and conducting trainings; distance training preferred.
Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with schools, communities and individuals from economically depressed communities.

The Specialist, Sponsorship Communities should be focused on responsiveness, accuracy and making interactions positive and supportive. He or she should exhibit a helpful disposition and willingness to give and accept constructive feedback with the utmost professionalism.
The ideal candidate will have experience successfully working with diverse individuals and demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity. A positive, compassionate attitude is critical to developing effective relationships with sponsorship liaisons in rural, impoverished communities. He or she must be attuned to the needs of all stakeholders - internal colleagues, partners, sponsors and beneficiaries - but able to maintain objectivity and accountability to the governing standards of Sponsorship and Save the Children.
