Summary:
The Product Development Shared Services Manager is responsible for leading a technical team that provides support services to various departments across the organization and acts as a liaison externally to certification bodies on behalf of Bullard.
The primary objective for this role is to optimize the use of shared resources and capabilities across the Product Development function, drive efficiency and consistency in our engineering processes and systems, and provide leadership in Compliance and Regulatory for all product categories.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Lead the Shared Engineering team responsible for Product Design (CAD), Engineering Change Notifications, Product Development Lab, and Compliance.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Lead the Shared Services Team to provide high-quality services to internal departments, focusing on continuous improvement, standardization, and workflow automation Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures to streamline engineering workflows and maximize efficiency for engineering change notifications, documentation release processes, product compliance updates, and related compliance audits that occur at the factory.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand needs and identify opportunities to improve collaboration, communication, and plan critical activities like regulatory audits.
Report regularly to senior management on the performance of the shared services function and suggest recommendations for improvement that will enable growth.
Required Skills/Abilities:

external) through industry-leading products Experience in Product Development of higher volume products that would ideally include injection molded plastics, mechanical and electromechanical products, and assembly Uncompromising values and an ability to respectfully challenge the organization while seeking solutions to problems Live or will live in beautiful central Kentucky and work between two locations - our factory and corporate headquarters - about 35 minutes apart from each other.
This role is critical to the success of the organization and is very hands-on.
Biased towards product quality, very detail-oriented Excited to develop and improve processes that enable accuracy and efficiency Comfortable and confident with regulatory requirements and communications across a variety of global regulatory and certification bodies (NIOSH, NFPA, EN, CSA, SEI, etc.
) for all product categories.
Experience dealing with external regulatory bodies and customers is strongly desired or have the desire to become an SME for regulatory certifications.
Over time the ideal candidate will become the SME for compliance and provide guidance to early product design to enable robust FMEA's and test planning.
This person will contribute to the multi-year product roadmaps in global regulatory areas including sustainability.
Will have experience or the desire to lead the Engineering Change Notification process and work with IT to establish and train internal employees on more efficient and automated ways of working (workflows, revision control, and general best practices in document control).
A project manager at heart, the ideal candidate will be organized and understand risks and contingency plans, task dependencies, and have a passion for planning.
Project Management experience is not required but desired for this role.
Education and
Experience:
8 to 12 years of relevant work experience and ideally with Solidworks or similar programs Experience leading a technical team or other leadership experience (Military, Non-Profit, etc.
) A scientific background and degree (in engineering, physics, quality, consumer science, etc.
) Experience collaborating closely with or working in Operations and/or Quality.
