The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the maintenance and calibration programs for the manufacturing area and facility.
This is a hands on position which also includes supervising others and responsibility for all maintenance activities for the facility.
The successful Maintenance Manager will troubleshoot equipment, utility, and facility issues and proactively improve existing and new equipment, utilities, and facilities.
Specific activities include responsibility for all areas of maintenance for the manufacturing and laboratory areas.
This includes procedures, forms, inventory of spare parts, routine and preventative maintenance, instrument calibration, emergency repairs, supervision of others, and technical input for new equipment purchases and plant expansion activities.
It is essential for the Maintenance Manager to have in-depth experience maintaining equipment, utilities, and facilities in a manufacturing plant.
It is highly preferred that the Maintenance Manager have in-depth knowledge of and experience with HVAC systems and high pressure steam boilers.
Essential Duties:
Operate, monitor, calibrate and maintain equipment and systems used to support manufacturing and laboratory operations.
Complete PM records, equipment logs and other forms to document work activities.
Review or approve maintenance and calibration documentation.
Write and revise SOPs and Forms to maintain up to date and accurate.
Evaluate spare parts needed and maintain an adequate inventory for all plant and manufacturing equipment.
Complete emergency repairs in a high quality, timely manner to minimize downtime.
Coordinate and supervise maintenance and calibration work for upgrading or maintaining equipment, utilities, and facilities.
Client, evaluate and recommend mechanical, electrical, control system or equipment upgrades to continually improve quality, safety, and reliability and reduce costs.
Provide technical input to equipment design and upgrades.
Keep all plant systems and manufacturing equipment operating efficiently and well maintained.
Maintain assigned areas neat and orderly and in compliance with SOPs and cGMPs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The individual must have hands on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or institutional environment such as a hospital or a pharmaceutical plant.
Additionally, the Maintenance Manager possesses:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all departments including coordination of activities with manufacturing and laboratory personnel.
Experience maintaining or calibrating equipment and utilities such as sterilizers, ovens, water systems, HVAC systems, laboratory equipment, and precision and vibratory manufacturing equipment.
Motivated to perform work while maintaining a focus on the long-term, continuous improvement of equipment, utility, and facility operation and support programs.
Must be flexible, adaptable, self-motivated and able to work well independently and across teams and partners.
Ability to work in a lean, action oriented organization and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
Good written communication skills to read and write SOPs and complete documents.
Pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
Qualified to work with controlled substances Minimum Qualifications Required:
A degree in a technical field or related certification 5 years of facilities and equipment maintenance experience HVAC Certification or PLC Programming is preferred Good written and verbal communication skills Recommended Skills Adaptability Attention To Detail Business Process Improvement Communication Control Systems Coordinating Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
