Job SummaryLPN's on 4 Main Med-Surg Telemetry Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide for medical surgical patients and adults requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
Patient conditions include a wide range of medical conditions and recovery from surgical procedures which may or may not require telemetry monitoring.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022.
This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment.
Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption.
Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes:
assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.
Furthermore, this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes.
This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction.

Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will have the following:
