00pm (and as needed) Job Summary Coordinate the planning of and conduct advanced Cyberlnfrastructure (Cl) engineering duties.
Implement current and develop new Cl solutions to keep up with the pace of complex research problems.
Works independently to build, monitor, and maintain the integrity of Cl systems.
Provide technical expertise to teams, projects along side of research programs.
Will be a key contributor to multiple projects simultaneously.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Expert knowledge of Linux system administration including operating system installation, configuration, and updates/patches, user management, package managemenUsoftware installation, storage management, network configuration, and performance monitoring Broad knowledge of the deployment and management of cyber- infrastructure (Cl) systems including storage, cluster computing, network, database, virtualized systems (e.
g.
, Linux clusters, VM clusters, storage clusters, and network services) Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to the user community Specialized knowledge in a specific technology such as HCP cluster, OpenStack cluster, Ceph/ JBOD cluster or parallel file system management Excellent communication skills coupled with an ability to navigate an academic environment and work collaboratively with individuals at all levels Ability to contribute to system administration best practices and knowledge transfer, document procedures and mentoring junior staff.
