Patient Care Type:
This environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes.
This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction.
Nursing Team Roles:
Registered Nurses on 3 Main Adult Medicine Services (Acute and Progressive), a universal bed unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital, provide care for adult patients who are moderately stable, with fluctuating patient acuity, have complex needs and require comprehensive care.
Patient care will include frequent assessment of pulmonary, renal, cardiac, vascular and neurological conditions.
Registered Nurses in the Orthopedic/General Surgery unit on 6 Main at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide care for orthopedic, plastic, and general surgery patients.
Patients in the Orthopedic/General Surgery unit are generally stable post-operative patients recovering from elective surgery.
Registered Nurses on the 7 Main Med-Surg/Telemetry unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide intermediate care for medical surgical patients and adults requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
Patient conditions include a wide range of medical conditions and recovery from surgical procedures which may or may not require telemetry monitoring.
Qualifications & Requirements:
