30pm (Remote) Job Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Director and PFS Supervisor, the Patient Financial Services Representative is responsible for follow-up on denied and outstanding outpatient accounts for specified payers.
Patient Financial Services Representative's main responsibilities include customer service, department specific tasks, administrative duties, communication skills, and accurate documentation.
The representative is expected to be familiar with hospital and departmental policies and procedures and able to utilize all resources within the hospital and department to accomplish the assigned job duties.
The duties of Representatives include following direct supervisor directives, performing timely and quality work, and ultimately contributing to the successful resolution of patient accounts.
Representatives ensure department policy and procedure is fully understood and followed.
This is a fully remote position.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess in-depth HIPAA knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Associate's degree; third party insurance claims follow-up/collections experience; medical, office and/or clerical work preferred.
Previous experience working with patient accounts/HIPAA is highly preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
