Administrative and Management:
Supports the BPSC mission, values, goals and strategic priorities.
Supports BPSC administrative governance and participates in defining short and long term facility goals and performance strategies.
Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Provides administration, leadership and direction of BPSC clinical operations to ensure regulatory compliance, patient safety and evidence-based practices.
Provides knowledge, interpretation and direction of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Recognize, assess and manage acceptable practices and limitations of physicians, AHP, licensed personnel and other ancillary employees with remedial action, as indicated.
Maintains professional relationships with providers in assessing performance, trends and continuity of care.
Participates in budget planning and monitoring of expenses to determine equipment acquisition, replacements and capital budgeting.
Monitors staffing utilization and productivity through clinical hour analysis, with appropriate actions to meet benchmarking goal.
Coordinates procedures, equipment and/or inventory with physicians, personnel and business office manager to identify case costing and profitability criteria.
Directs Supply Chain Team in cost containment and inventory management strategies and performance of responsibilities.
Directs Supply Chain Team in obtaining specialty supplies and/or equipment for scheduled procedures.
Provides administrative leadership and reference for Quality Assessment Performance Improvement and Infection Control interventions to meet mandatory compliance standards (State, Federal and Accrediting bodies).
Provides leadership in maintaining facility and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sterility and operational ability.
Communicates deficiencies to contracted service providers and/or BPSC administrator.
Directs FDA approved Re-processing program for the facility.
Provides active administrative leadership and recommendations for required Quarterly and Annual Reviews, forwarding to the Board of Managers.
Directs and performs other responsibilities as administratively assigned.
II.

Collaborates with Infection Preventionist regarding Sterile Processing Quality Controls, reported Surgical Site Infections and follow up, environmental monthly/quarterly auditing and other quality measures, as indicated.
Directs Sterile Processing Lead Tech to ensure most current practices & policies are maintained for patient safety with efficient daily operation.
Provides support to ensure Preventative Maintenance responsibilities are performed.
Direct and/or manage monthly departmental meetings with communication of content to personnel.
Directs policy and procedure reviews to ensure continued compliance with state, federal, accrediting body regulations, standards and protocols.
Maintains competency development and/or revisions reflecting policies and quality monitoring.
Leads chart auditing reviews, provides interpretation of outcome and implements methods for improving compliance and/or outcome.
Direct or lead designated committees to improve ASC quality and operational efficiency.
Actively utilizes ASC community networking and industry leaders for resources, trends and compliance interventions.
Directs and maintains Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Plan with ongoing development, auditing, analysis, implementation and reporting requirements.
Leads and/or serves on the Patient Care/Quality Committee ensuring criteria is met for accrediting-body and Board of Manager reporting.
III.
Human Resources Management:
Directs personnel management, which includes employee selection, orientation, education, training, competency, supervision, and retention.
Maintains employee job descriptions as requirements are reviewed, to reflect regulatory standards.
Ensures current licensure/certification of designated personnel is maintained.
Monitors employee time and attendance, providing disciplinary action as indicated.
Directs and ensures completion of employee performance reviews for compliance and professional development.
Provides effective team leadership, employee development and fosters accountability to ensure efficient operations.
Diffuses and/or resolves conflict through effective communication to ensure a positive and professional working environment.
Adhere to HR policies and performs disciplinary actions, as deemed necessary.
Directs and ensures patient care providers are knowledgeable and compliant with Annual Mandatory education, training and competencies.
Establishes personnel accountability to ensure effective and efficient operational responsibilities.
Provides mentoring and coaching to assist with employee growth and development.
IV.
Professional and Workforce Development:
Directs personnel and team development through effective interpersonal, technical and critical thinking abilities.
Supports the empowerment of patient caregivers to enhance departmental operation, education, clinical competency and professional development.
Maintains ASC and professional affiliations to anticipate healthcare trends, developments and incorporate new concepts into facility procedures.
Demonstrates a comprehensive interpretation of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards with mandatory compliance.
Seeks professional development through accepting challenging opportunities and responsibilities.
Executes direction and ability to gather, analyze, understand and present reports and statistical information.
Develops quality informational auditing and tracking systems for clinical areas to initiate improvements and process changes.
Assists with the development, implementation, maintenance and reporting requirements for the ongoing Quality Improvement Program.
Provides leadership and reference for Quality Assessment Performance Improvement and Infection Control interventions to meet mandatory compliance standards (State, Federal and Accrediting bodies).
V.
Risk Management:
Demonstrates effective use of risk management strategies to promote a safe patient care and working environment.
Provides strong leadership and knowledge of State, Federal and Accrediting body standards to interpret, implement and maintain compliance documents for reference.
Directs critical and emergent situations in a competent and professional manner.
Collaborates with Safety Officer to achieve compliance and perform Life Safety Code specifications, emergency management and preparedness plan with modifications as indicated.
Participates in patient, personnel and physician radiation safety compliance monitoring.
Supports Infection Preventionist to ensure employee education, policy compliance and performance with OSHA guidelines, patient safety auditing and reporting, safety hazards and verification.
Collaborates with Infection Preventionist to maintain sterility and compliance with nationally accepted practices, minimizing risk of Surgical Site Infections and/or other adverse events.
Initiate and direct effective reporting and prevention of adverse events.
Collaborates with Contracted Pharmacist to ensure pharmaceutical compliance monitoring, security and accountability according to facility policy.
VI.
Financial Management:
Coordinates inventory management with Supply Chain Team to maintain supplies on hand with accuracy.
Collaborate with management team in monitoring supply cost, supply standardization, cost per case and benchmarking to improve inventory reduction strategies and cost containment.
Provides fundamental preparation for identifying capital budget items, supportive financial data and prioritizing of capital requests.
Directs justification for equipment and supplies, service agreements and equipment contracting.
