Description The Department for Income Support, consisting of Disability Determination Services and Child Support Enforcement are looking for an outstanding, knowledgeable Child Support Specialist II in the Northern Bluegrass Section.
To be successful as a Child Support Specialist II, candidates should be professional, polite, always prepared to meet challenges/deadlines, willing to help others, goal setter and have expert knowledge of program.
Child Support Specialist II's must be efficient with Child Support program knowledge, computers, excellent customer service skills, writing skills and organized.
Independently performs complex child support activities.
Interacts with customers and other agencies to facilitate the delivery of child support services, involving the distribution of child support funds.
Interprets child support policies and procedures for new employees, local office staff, customers, and other agencies regarding the proper distribution of Child Support payments.
Completes case initiation, administrative enforcement, and case management activities.
Completes complex arrearage calculations on multi-payee or multistate cases involving the receipt of public assistance, completes financial calculations to determine excess and escrow payments and extracts data to identify and correct data performance issues.
Interprets child support policies and procedures for new staff, local office staff, customers, and other agencies.
Provides reinforcement training and assists subordinate employees with casework questions.
Participates in meetings and workshops.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
Good customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Excellent computer skills.

Minimum Requirements EDUCATION:
Must complete two years (54 semester hours) from a college or university.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
One year of experience in child support enforcement.

Administrative work, clerical office work, work dealing directly with the public, or experience in reviewing, monitoring, determining eligibility for, and/or administering Food Stamps, the Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program, Medical Assistance, Child Support, or other public assistance programs will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
