Hiring Agency Cabinet for Health & Family Services Department for Income Support Location 455 Park Place Suite 120-B Lexington, KY 40511 USA The agency may authorize the selected candidate to telecommute.

Description The Department for Income Support, consisting of Disability Determination Services and Child Support Enforcement, are looking for an enthusiastic go-getter to learn the basic casework activities in the Child Support Enforcement, Northern Bluegrass Section.
Candidates should be able to learn the program, have good communication skills, and be able to provide assistance to customers and other agencies regarding the distribution of Child Support services.
To be successful as a Child Support Specialist I, candidates should be professional, polite, courteous, comfortable with computers, and willing to meet challenges/deadlines.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
Under direct supervision, learns to perform child support activities designed to develop knowledge and understanding of the Child Support program's policies and procedures.
Learns to complete basic child support casework activities in accordance with child support policies and procedures by assisting with case initiation, determination of paternity, and/or order establishment.
Learns to work with various agencies and individuals to resolve child support issues.
Corrects and updates information in the child support system.
Learns to provide casework assistance to contracting official staff in the County Attorneys offices.
Learns to interpret policy and procedures for contracting official staff, customers, and other agencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
