Schneider Electric is searching for an ambitious professional to assume the role of a Manufacturing Engineer (Materials) in our Lexington, KY location. The incumbent will apply their engineering background and knowledge into a materials manufacturing environment.
This position is accountable for providing both technical and project leadership mainly in the areas related to material flow, MPH (material providing and handling), warehouse management, shipping and receiving. Provide recommendations for changes to working methods that will minimize risks, costs, and waste; increase productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of material flow within the facility.
Responsibilities:
1. -Leads specification, design, analysis and development of material related capital projects.
2. -Evaluates and validates alternatives to create optimum material process designs.
3. -Participates in strategic planning as it relates to the materials organization.
5. -Acts as a technical consultant on processes and methods as required by material analysts within the department.
At a minimum, candidates should possess:
BS Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or other related technical discipline.
Experience in high speed, high volume manufacturing operations preferred
Strong working knowledge of PC applications (Windows, Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred
2 years minimum Manufacturing Engineering experience in an industrial environment
Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge and application - Ability to be self-directed and manage autonomously
Self motivated and eager to improve surroundings.
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills- Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
