Provide overall direction and leadership to factory hourly a team environment with a strong emphasis on 2-way communications and opportunity for involvement by all employees.Define and execute a safety improvement plan. Focus on accident prevention. Resolve safety issues. Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained at all times.Team member, as required, on Six Sigma productivity improvement team and/or Rapid Improvement Events. Follow ISO continuous improvement projects.Execute the logistics plan for loading and routing transportation.Direct hourly personnel on priorities, objectives and progress in meeting them.Ensure that all hourly personnel have the education and training to meet their job input on truck loading requirements and provide resources needed for schedule effective measures of linearity and schedule execution.Monitor and control costs for the shipping function. Implement cost improvement programs. Responsible for executing the load plan, crating materials as required, hauling units from the production line and producing base backup for Load PlannerPerform additional assignments
BS or equivalent degree or past technical or supervisory experience.5 years of experience in transportation or related activity.A good blend of technical and interpersonal skills.Good communication skills.Team oriented.Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.General understanding of applicable Product design.Basic understanding of transportation processes and product knowledge.Good understanding of ISO Standards and Trane Lexington procedures.Willing to work on any shift.Familiarity with the ISO 9001 standard and quality system. Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.Familiarity with Six Sigma quality and productivity techniques.
