Graphics Pre-Press Technician

Overview:

Symbiotic Services is seeking a skilled Graphics Pre-Press Technician for a well-established organization in the labels and packaging industry. This technician will work under the direction of the Art Manager to process customer files, pre-flight jobs, and prepare them for imaging directly to plate. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and experience in a print production environment.

Key
Responsibilities:

• Pre-flight customer files for resolution, color correction, trapping, overprinting, and formatting for output.
• Convert files to CMYK and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Output accurate proofs and prepare jobs for direct-to-plate imaging.
• Archive completed jobs and maintain organized digital records.
• Interface with sales, customer service, and production teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2“5 years of experience in printing and graphic pre-press.
• Proficiency with MAC systems.
• Strong grammar, composition, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to read a ruler and perform basic math.
• Excellent color vision and attention to visual details.
• Comfortable working in a self-managed team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience supporting internal and external customers technically.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to a manufacturing setting.
• Must be able to sit, use a computer, and lift up to 5 lbs.
• Vision requirements include close vision, color differentiation, and screen focus.
