Vehicle Description 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente was rotisserie restored by my husband in 2009.
We refer to it as our Little Merc.
It was built in Lorain, Ohio, we purchased it in New York.
Found out later it was sold new in Sunnyvale, CA.
The Mercury Comet Caliente was the most luxurious vehicle in the Comet line-up for 1965.
Our Little Merc has 289 4 V engine with 8 cylinders, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Convertible top, factory wire hub caps, radio am, bucket seats with a console.
All restored original, Blue Ice is a original color and off white interior and top.
We have really enjoyed our Little Merc.
We have gone to numerous local shows and received Best of Show or Best Ford.
Been invited to several Concours d'Elegance show where we have come in first or second.
Have gone to Keeneland Concours d' Elegance twice, Boca Raton Concours d' Elegance, Ault Park, Glenmoor Gathering Concours d' Elegance & Louisville Concours d'Elegance at French Lick, IN.
It is fun showing the car and driving it on a warm sunny day with the top down.
When people first see it they ask if they can touch the leather seats.
Think the color combination draws people to it.
Also the lines on the 1965 are so smooth and sleek.
Even though the restoration is 12 years old it still shines just like it did at the beginning.
